When I thought about this wallet, I had a wire EDM machine that I was using to manufacture heart pacemaker parts. I had an idea to make a finger knife… similar to the obsidian knives the native Americans made. So, I designed and made a limited production run of this knife. It features an oblong hole for your thumb and finger to give you control of the blade and a notch on the tip of the blade to use your index finger for delicate work. This is a one-of-a-kind, custom-made blade.
I first wire EDM’d the blank out of 440C, then heat treated to 58-60RC, then double disc ground the sides to assure precision flatness and beauty.
A famous, custom knife maker, TAT, put the final edged on it, to my specifications, giving it a scalpel sharpness.
The wallet comes with this finger knife. In mine, I also have a fire starter, whistle, diamond sharpener, compass, 50’ of 50# Spectra and fish hooks. And… it’s a great, heavy-duty wallet. My last one has lasted 30 years!
Good luck, Good tides,
Steve Abel
